XHRIS2EAZY has been investing himself in the most interesting sounds of the underground for a minute now, hopping on beats by Hi-C, ICXXY and even dropping a DJ Slur mix to one of his songs. His newest joint ‘Russian Cream’ lacks high-profile producer credits, but its dreamy plug sound is amongst the most luxurious shit that the NYC rapper has ever tackled. Self-described as #EVILPLUG, this track allows XHRIS to doggedly pursue rap perfection harder than ever before. On previous tracks his flows have sounded tight and were very well implemented here, but it transpires that the best accompaniment to these intense rap passages is lightweight, uber-melodic production that allows the MC to revel in the sweeping soundscapes of contemporary hip-hop.
