Recently in pursuit of a more melodic sound, California rapper Cam Kron’s adapts to it more naturally than ever before on ‘In Tune?’.
Produced by the extremely talented Fish, the song’s instrumental is synthesiser-heavy and carries a whimsical, nostalgic tone. Cam’s vocals carry the same sentiment, expressing a desire to get on the same wavelength as the subject of the song. The singing here is some of the artist’s most passionate to date, his heavily affected croon striding triumphantly over the seismic drum patterns. It’s also a more fleshed out track than some of his other recent efforts, the hook repeats a total of three times which gives it ample opportunity to lodge firmly into the listener’s brain. Cam’s adoption of this sound has done wonders for the diversity of his output, and I predict that with anthems this strong under his belt it won’t be long before he becomes a significant name either in the underground or above it.
