It’s a new year, and Braxton Knight is ready to hit the ground running. Far past cementing his place as an underground legend, he’s teaming up with producer Retrocanon for their explosive EP “Revengers”.
There are four hard-hitting tracks here, each excellently pairing Braxton Knight’s metallic-laced vocals with calculated production to brew up the perfect storm. Opener “Tokyo Revengers” displays the punchy hooks that Braxton has near perfected during his reign in the digital scene. At this point, we’re all just sitting back to admire the immense confidence seeping out of each verse.
“Heart of Fire” is drenched in atmosphere, and Knight makes a grand entrance. He’s accompanied by artist knives56k who illuminates the latter half of the song. I’ve got to be honest: this is my formal introduction to their work. The feature is short but sweet, adding a lighthearted, free-flowing feel to the track. Hopefully, we’ll be seeing more collaboration between these two on upcoming releases. For now, I’ll be replaying the EP over and over. Each track was absolutely electrifying and showcases Braxton Knight’s ability to consistently improve his craft.
